We have some big walls to fill and we will put your take on the city on it.

WHAT IS IT?

NE1 FOR NE1 is a large-scale public artwork which will be prominently displayed in Newcastle city centre and co-produced by the various communities who make up the city.

HOW CAN I TAKE PART?

There are two ways:
1) Come along to one of the two Incursions community walks which we’ll explore the city and produce responses to be incorporated into the design of the artwork (these can be rubbings, drawings, photos, writing, etc). We’ll provide materials to do this and no expertise necessary. We also have a budget for travel should people need help getting into the city (message System for further info). These walks will take place on Sunday 18th and Saturday 24th Feb (specifics such as times and location on Incursions page).
2) Submit your photos, drawings, rubbings, etc etc. made in response to the city below. There is no selection process etc, we’ll work it in somehow!

THEN WHAT WILL HAPPEN?

We’ll incorporate these into the public artwork which will be prominently displayed in Newcastle city centre and later used to produce a zine that will be distributed to different venues throughout the city and available for free.
